Taryn + Zak: Grand Rapids Wedding

A moody overcast wedding day never looked so good as it did on Taryn + Zak’s day. Yes, we got caught in the middle of a field during an intense downpour, but name us two people who you’d rather go running through the rain with - we’ll wait.

In all seriousness though we went into this day knowing we’d most likely get pretty emotionally wrecked, and starting with Taryn’s video message to her soon-to-be husband got the tears flowing early. Every moment and detail perfectly reflected a piece of these two and their story together. The intentionality, the focus, and the celebration that characterized this day from beginning to end was 100% Taryn and Zak and we could not have asked for a more amazing day for these two. Don’t mind us, we’ll just be crying and swooning over these two for the rest of the year!

Graycen + Tom: Grand Rapids Wedding Trailer

Nothing gets us right in the feels like a good, classic high school sweethearts-turned-husband-and-wife story - and that our friends, is the story of Graycen + Tom. These two grew up just down the street from one another, went to school together, and Tom even says he knew Graycen was the one when they were only in second grade. Crying already!

These two have seen each other through a lot. Long-distance, career and education changes, national basketball championships - they’ve always been there for one another. A testament of what true and honest commitment and love are. Getting to be a part of their day was an honor that we cannot express how thankful we are for it. Celebrating these two—their long journey to their wedding day and the many adventures yet ahead—simply getting to pay witness to a great love story, hands down, was one of our top moments this summer.

We love these two so much, and we cannot imagine a more perfect wedding for two more deserving people in the world. Here’s to the Hamiltons!

Taryn + Zak: Grand Rapids Wedding Trailer

Taryn + Zak’s story is one of friendship and grace, years of falling deeper, more madly in love with each other, and--above all--a story written by their Creator. Since middle school, they have been the truest of friends, there for each other through the ups and downs, there to celebrate the other in all their victories and to be a safe place during the storms of adolescence and adulthood. It doesn’t take being around them for long to see just how wonderfully and beautifully paired they are for each other.

From their killer shoe game, their contagious laughter, to their desire to always care for the other, this wedding day could not have better reflected who these two are, both as individuals, but also as a couple. All we can say is thank you, Taryn and Zak, for being such wonderful models of what a truly Christ-like love and devotion look like. You’ll always be our GOAT.

Cornerstone University: 2019 Commencement Commercial Film Series

This marks our sixth season of partnering with Cornerstone University to help tell the story of just a few of their talented, brilliant, and fearless graduates as they step out into the real world - taking everything that they’ve learned while at CU and applying it with the utmost of excellence to be culture changers in the world for Christ. If you’ve followed us for even a little while you know this is a series we get excited about creating every year because it allows us to know these students, our fellow alumni, on such a real and transparent level. To reflect with them on all that their college careers have entailed; every success and major academic and professional accomplishment, every struggle and personal heartache, every valley crossed and every mountain climbed - this is a series of celebration that we cannot say enough how thankful we are able to share in. From stories of students finding a thirst within themselves to learn and thrive, to stories of students working to be the hands and feet of Christ; from stories of students working to make a way for their own children to one day accomplish even greater things, to stories of students working to bring the kingdom of Heaven to Earth, this year we celebrate the many stories of all the CU graduating classes of 2019.

From all of us at Shadow Shine Pictures, Congratulations to the class of 2019 and welcome to the Cornerstone Alumni family!

Courtney + Chris: Glen Arbor Wedding Trailer

By now Courtney + Chris need no introduction. We’ve gushed and swooned over these two for months now, and here’s yet another chance for all of us to do so again! Courtney and Chris are two of the most wonderfully kind people you could hope to meet, they are unquestionably adorable together, and they care for one another on such a deep and pure level that in many ways you aren’t the same after getting to know them. I know we sure aren’t.

Even if it weren’t the dead of winter we’d still be dreaming back to this day for so many countless reasons. Of the many that come flooding back, the letters these two wrote to each other before their first look easily floors us the most. To hear the words these two had chosen to share, the memories they were reliving on their morning, the promises already being made, and the unconditional love that was so boldly on display - we were crying right along with Courtney!

We cannot say enough how thankful we are these two had the most perfect day, because they deserve absolutely nothing less. We are still counting down the days till we are able to see them again, but for now let’s show this couple the most love. Here’s to the beautiful Mr + Mrs Bowen!

Allie + Zach: Los Angeles Engagement

Allie and Zach grew up just minutes apart from one another. They at least on one or two occasions went to the same music festival in Northern Indiana as kids, and as fate would have it, they’d both end up moving clear across the country to the same city without ever knowing who they’d meet there. If that isn’t the start of one of the most romantic love stories, we don’t know what is!

We met Allie way back in our college days, and she was even a part of one of the very first Shadow Shine films believe it or not! Since then we’ve been blessed to continue to get to know Allie as a friend and fellow Cornerstone alumni and have loved watching her career take off. If you know Allie you know she is without question one of the most caring, attune, and selfless people God has ever blessed this earth with. When she moved out to Los Angeles I don’t think any of us realized she’d be meeting the man created perfectly to match her heart, but sure enough, she met Zach. He could not be anymore her equal in heart, character, or spirit. Adventuring around LA with them, seeing how they both make each other smile and light up, was one of the best days ever.

Allie and Zach are some of the best this life has to offer, and we could not be more thankful that they not only found one another in a city nearly 19 times the size of Grand Rapids, but that together the make this world a better, brighter place. Celebrating with these two later this summer cannot come soon enough!

Rachel + David: Hilton Head Wedding

When the opportunity to take a road trip down south to spend the day with two of the funniest, goofiest, and sweetest people you know comes calling, you grab your camera and your bag and you hit the road - even if that means you might be driving into a hurricane.

We’ve known Rachel for nearly ten years now, so when we first heard about this boy “David” that she had met at church we knew something was up! When we finally met this man that we had heard all about we were so excited because it took no time at all while driving around Charleston one fall afternoon with the two of them to see how incredibly happy he made Rachel; the way she just trusted him completely, loved him deeply, and laughed at all his funny faces and dad jokes.

As one might have expected, their day was the perfect reflection of who these two people are as a one: intentional, sweet, and joyous. We are so happy for Rachel and David, and all of their friends and family. The Lord has some big plans for these two, that we are sure of, and we cannot wait to see all of the adventures they are about to embark on together. Here’s to Mr + Mrs Eudy, may you two never lose that infectious, lovable, silliness that we all could use more of in our lives!
