Tramec Sloan: Delivery, Performance, Value, Integrity

We love working and collaborating with local businesses that are leading the way in innovation, excellence, and integrity within their respective markets. When our team was approached by the team at Tramec Sloan, a Holland based ISO certified engineering company serving the heavy-duty trucking industry, we were excited to come on board and and craft for them a short film highlighting their history, exceptional products, and reputation within the industry.

Starting as Sloan Transportation Products, a branch of The Sloan Valve company, in 1977 Tramec Sloan’s very foundation and history was formed upon the belief that creating quality products with excellent service provided an unmatched value to the industry. After two company merges and a couple years of unified company development, Tramec continues to live this belief out on a daily basis.

Today Tramec Sloan has developed into a lead supplier of quality heavy-duty truck and trailer products to OEMs and the aftermarket. Their team functions as a single source provider of original equipment for their customers, providing quality products that are both innovative and efficient for those whom they serve.

Between roadtripping to Tramec’s Galion, Ohio and Iola, Kansas branches, to learning about the developing and growing culture of their company, this was an exciting project to have been a part of. For us personally, we were stretched creatively and had the opportunity to try new styles and ways of telling their story. During this process we not only learned new skills, got to tour the midwest a bit, and created a film, we also gained a growing relationship with Sloan, and for that we could not be more thankful.

A Year in Reflection

It's always an honor to make films like these for our Alma Mater. They remind us of the special community that fostered our professional skills, many life long friendships, and instilled a Truth that can never be taken away. It's an invaluable experience that we carry with us day to day.

Cornerstone University is not just a collection of buildings where people come to take classes. It's a community and a home, not just for us, but for many others before and after us. These campus paths have led countless undergrad and graduate students not only to their dream careers, but also to form lives that are changing the world around them. Here's to you all who burned the midnight oil to get your projects done on time, to those who got exceptional grades while juggling many extra curricular activities, to those who inspired their friends and families with their hard work and dedication to complete a higher education degree.

We are proud to be counted among the wonderful graduates of this fine institution. Congratulations to the Graduating class of 2015!!!

CU Alumni: A Continuing Legacy

Cornerstone University will always have a special place with us, as it is the Alma Mater for almost our entire team. From the community that we experienced in our years there, to the continued relationship that we’re able to have with them now - it really has become a cornerstone for us.

Getting the opportunity to capture the stories of fellow alumni, and seeing how they are leaving a grand legacy and influencing the world for greater things than themselves gave us a renewed sense of pride for our time at CU. We’re proud to have come from a school that has had such an influence on so many, and even more so that those many are having an influence on others.

To our fellow and future alumni - here’s to a continued legacy of influence and story making for years to come!

Night of Nets: CU Basketball vs. Aquinas

If you follow us, have talked with us, or know us at all, you know how close Night of Nets is to our hearts. NoN is a community coming and working together to be change agents for other communities around the world in the prevention of Malaria. Each NoN event has a monumental influence and outcome on the lives of countless families and children around the world, something which our team has witnessed first hand. The relief, joy, and love you can see on a sister's face as she receives a bed net, knowing that her siblings whom she cares for can sleep safely at night is a sight that you can never forget.

If we could, we would take each of you and allow you to witness the impact that one bed net can have. It truly is the easiest, most sustainable answer to the Malaria crisis in areas like Sub-Saharan Africa. A bed net honestly changes lives and the entire future for Africa. It keeps children healthy enough to attend school, it helps keep parents and caretakers working to support their families and the economy of their community, and it protects everyone from a sickness that can kill them.

We are proud and excited to stand behind CU's Men and Women's basketball teams as they continue to help raise awareness and support in helping end this completely preventable, but life threatening disease. Join us on February 18th at 7:00pm @ Cornerstone University as we work together to end the threat of Malaria and bring security to families and children around the world, one bed net at a time.

Behind the Scenes of the Winter 2014 2015 Issue

It’s #FashionFriday! That’s a thing, right? Well we're going to make it a thing for at least this week.

One thing we love about living in a city like Grand Rapids is that there is such a focus and emphasis on community that it isn't hard to walk out your door and connect with others in your area that are passionate and driven to help further build the culture of GR. Be that through advancements in the arts, medicine, or commerce; Grand Rapids is a community of people-focused individuals who love working together. It’s what makes it “home” for us.

So naturally when the creators and visionaries behind the West Michigan Style magazine approached us about capturing behind the scenes for their latest issue, the 2014 2015 Winter collection, we were totally on board. Their fun and energetic team works so hard at bringing so many wonderful members from our community together to help create a product that readers can fall in love with, and it totally shows. From the moment we walked on set with them we could just tell that it was going to be a fantastic day - not to mention we were able to catch up with our friends at Kelly Braman Photography!

This issue focused on the idea of how to stay active and engaged in the greater Grand Rapids area, taking advantage of all the things Grand Rapids has to offer during the winter season. From unique and thoughtfully designed active and life wear, to an evening out on the town, the team at West Michigan Style has put together an amazing Winter Issue for their readers to engage with.

We love it. We love Grand Rapids too. It’s a pretty cool place.

Check out the West Michigan Style Winter 2014 2015 Issue today!

Work of the Sacred: the Trailer

Work of the Sacred: the Trailer

Light is the most fascinating of all aspects and elements of our natural world. It gives life, it sustains, it powers, and it propels us onward. It captivates, it creates, and yet we take this complex entity for granted. As children we are enraptured by the warmth and blaze of a summer sun, but overtime we lose interest for this divinely created source of life, and what was once a source of illumination to our imaginations becomes simply the mundane.

But what happens when our understanding of light, and how it speaks to our hearts and minds is reimagined? How does light become something new entirely, that allows us to look beyond what is easily seen to something that we have not considered before? How can light create a sense of sacred space, or even just that; the sacred?

This is a small glimpse into this story of sacred light, and the process of developing such sacred space through the marriage of art and faith. We are beyond eager to continue to document and tell this story with Brandes upon his return to the states later this coming winter, and to unveil our documentary on his process and installation fall of next year.
